How to Make Game Assets with AI: A Practical Pipeline

AI can now produce most asset types an indie game needs. The trick is a pipeline that keeps everything in one consistent style and legally shippable. Here's ours.

The pipeline

Style first. Make concept art and a style guide with Midjourney or Scenario. Everything else references it.
2D assets. Train Scenario on your style, or use PixelLab for pixel art.
3D assets. Feed your concept images to Meshy (try Meshy ↗*) or Tripo (try Tripo ↗*) (image to 3D keeps style closer than text alone).
Cleanup. Fix topology, scale and UVs in Blender; batch-check sprites in your editor.
Audio. Sound effects and voice with ElevenLabs (try ElevenLabs ↗*); music with Suno.
License check. Make sure every asset came from a plan that allows commercial use, and keep a list of which tool made what for store AI disclosures.

Budget tip

Prototype on free plans, then upgrade only the tools whose output actually ships. Free-plan output is often non-commercial (Tripo, ElevenLabs and Suno free plans are), so you may need to regenerate final assets on a paid plan.
